Does Anyone Know About Bak Mei (white Eyebrow) Kung Fu?

does anyone know about Bak Mei and can they describe its characteristics and what kinda of fighting it is? I think its similar to wing chun with the little ive seen

Bak Mei is nothing like Wing Chun.

It was developed by someone who was a Monk who supposedly betrayed his temple.

There is much speculation about this. Some say he didn’t and acted as a double spy to help the Shaolin.

I believe he did betray Shaolin and helped kill them off. Most say he is one of the Five Elders – others say he is actually Ma Ning Yi.

Bak Mei and Shaolin practitioners have this rivalry because of this.

Aside from that – Bak Mei Pai is a very vicious art. It is related to the Hakka Fist arts like Southern Mantis and Dragon.

There are heavy influences of Dragon and Tiger in Bak Mei.

It is one of my personal favorite arts. If I had access to it, I would definitely study it.

Looks flashy but not very practical.

Takes at least 10 years and a lot of physical training until you can be a great fighter, it’s not something you can learn quickly like boxing or muai thai.

I saw some of this style during a performance years ago by a group of students of Master Man Kwong Fong in New York City. Master Man Kwong Fong only teach private lesson in New York City. He is a 5th generation Master of Bak Mei. The form that I saw performed is Sub Jee Kuen, the foundation form of Bak Mei. Btw Master Man Kwong Fong doen’t speak Mandarin, he speak Cantonese only.

Kwong Man Fong has open classes. I have been studying it for nearly a year and a half with no previous martial arts training. It’s a very powerful system, and a great little school if you want to learn a martial art, has been great for getting in shape as well.
